Welcome to the 2nd annual Stuff it for Bandom holiday exchange! Below you will find everything you need to participate. Please read it carefully!
Important notes on pairings: Pairings can include anyone from Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! at the Disco, The Young Veins, The Academy Is..., Cobra Starship, Empires, The Like, Gym Class Heroes, The Hush Sound, The Cab and Hey Monday. Current, former and touring band members are fair game.
You may ask for intra- or interband pairings, and you're also allowed to ask for pairings that include band members' significant others/spouses as well as fringe bandom people such as Brian Schechter, Zack Hall, Shane Valdez, etc. However, these people MUST be paired with a band member or former band member. So Brendon/Shane Valdez, for example, is A-OK. But Shane Valdez/Zack Hall would not be accepted.
However, if you request pairings that include a fringe character, you must also request at least two pairings that are composed solely of band members/former band members.
For example: You want to request Shane/Brendon. Great! You also want to request Bob/Brian. That's fantastic! But because those two pairings include two people who aren't part of the bands, you must request at least two more "core" pairings such as Brendon/Spencer, Patrick/Bob, Z/Tennessee, Travie/William, Greta/Bob Morris, etc.
If you have questions about whether your pairings are okay, send your question to stuffitmod@gmail.com.
To sign up, just fill out the form below that tells us the following:
Please be aware that this is a fic exchange. By signing up, you are promising to complete a fic for someone else. Please only sign up if you feel confident that you will be able to complete a fic for someone. If something comes up and you have to drop out, please give us as much warning as possible so that we can find a pinch hitter. We want to make sure everyone gets a fic for the holidays! If you feel you're up to the challenge, just copy the form above, fill it out, and comment on this post with your completed form. Comments are screened. Make sure to include your e-mail address so we can contact you if we have questions.
THERE'S ONE BIG CHANGE THIS YEAR: Last year, we did not tell writers who they were writing for. This year, writers will be able to choose whether they'd like to know who their recipient is. Some of you may like the freedom of not having a name attached, while others may want to do some covert research on what their recipients like. When it comes time and you get your prompt, you should respond to say you got it and to specify whether you want to know your recipient's identity.
So, since some writers might choose to be surprised about who they're writing for, please be detailed in your signup form about your preferences. If at any point you have questions for your recipient, questions and answers will be relayed through mods. Just e-mail questions to stuffitmod@gmail.com.
About mid-November we will send a reminder to participants. With that reminder, we'll send a template of how headers should be formatted and details about how fics should be sent in.
Hopefully dropouts won't be a problem, but we plan to begin looking for pinch hitters as soon as the Dec. 16 deadline has passed. We hope to give pinch hitters about a week to complete their fics.
So feel free to sign up or ask questions and spread the word about this year's challenge! And thanks for helping to make someone's holidays happier!
Signups are now CLOSED.

Which pairings you'd like to read about. You can list as many pairings as you want, but you must list at least three. If you request GSF or threesomes, please also list at least two regular pairings in addition to those. This way your writer will have some options! From these options, writers only have to pick one of the pairings, though they may include more of your pairings if they'd like. Which pairings you don't want to read about. Obviously writers should choose to write one of the pairings you request, but this is here to ensure they don't include a side pairing that you have strong objections to. What elements you would like to see in the fic written for you. These include fic cliches, tropes, kinks, AUs, etc. These are meant to give your writer an idea of what you might enjoy. However, your writer is not required to write any of these elements. What elements you do not want to read. For example, if you don't want angst, death, watersports, etc., list it here. Fic writers MUST abide by this list of don'ts. Additional details/prompts. Again, this helps give your writer ideas, but they do not have to adhere to these. In this area, you could give prompts or let your writer know if there's a pairing or character you've listed that you'd strongly prefer they write about. Which pairings or bands you'd be comfortable writing. For example, if you're comfortable writing any pairing in MCR, you can just list MCR. If you can only write Gerard/Frank, just list them instead. Which pairings or bands you would not be comfortable writing. If you know nothing about Empires, for example, and list them here, we'll make sure we don't assign you someone who only wants Empires fic. Elements you wouldn't mind writing and elements you wouldn't want to write. This helps us match you up with requesters. If you'd be interested in pinch-hitting. In case we have dropouts, we'll put you on the list of people we need to beg to help make sure everyone gets a fic.
